It's *possible* it was in standard def. Also, Comcast compresses their signal, so you're not seeing true HD (or Blu-Ray) for that matter.
Conversely, maybe you've seen them in Blu ray and don't care for the picture.
Everyone has a different aesthetic, so please know that I'm not passing judgement.
