Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say that. You did.
You are the one that provided the dual nature of the argument in the accrueing of fat AND loss of muscle. That duality is what I'm refuting.
I guarantee you that if you spent two weeks eating only 800 calories worth of whatever sugar you choose, not only would you lose body fat, but if you did four days a week of full-body resistance training, your muscle loss would be so minimal, you wouldn't even notice.
Also, lean muscle is a funny term. Show me fat muscle.
