It's because they did it the right way.
They dropped 50 into a cast of real actors.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Omar Benson Miller, Terrence Howard, Bill Duke, and Viola Davis. That's a strong strong cast.
He's also got a pretty compelling story. That certainly didn't hurt.
