I just thought it was kind of strange that Godzilla followed the MUTOs from Hawaii to San Fran and never bothered to stop and feed off some of the nukes or power plants along the way. There's no way he could eat other living creatures; he'd literally wipe out entire ecosystems in one meal.

As to the second -- you're right, but if he was either tearing ships apart to get at nuclear reactors (hello, USS Enterprise) or nuclear power plants, then he becomes a bad guy, and we can't have that, so...
