Also, being a Godzilla fan in the first place probably helped a lot. Like early shots of the spikes sticking out of the water. I'm thinking, "Oh... that's the Godzilla I remember. Sweet." And just little references here and there.

But if you went in cold, I could see how you might think, "Can we see these MF's fight already?"
