You are leaving out that the Mizzou game is being shown on SEC TV which is shown in most TV markets over the air.
If ESPN had the option to choose an SEC game with 2 ranked teams at 2:30, I am sure they would. Unfortunately it's not an option.

I suppose they might have contract obligations with the Big 10 keeping that bad game on ESPN2.
Guess you have to chalk this up as one of the downsides of being in such a large league.
