I was curious to see why GoDaddy dropped its primary sponsorship for Danica Patrick after fielding her car for a number of years.
Well, she had a good run...
From the LA Times:
Quote:
The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company said it wants to "diversify its marketing investment across more channels and regions."
It costs roughly $20 million a year for a NASCAR team to field a car in the Sprint Cup Series, and GoDaddy shouldered most of that cost as the primary sponsor. Patrick drives the No. 10 Chevrolet for the Stewart-Haas Racing team.

It always comes down to money. So as long as sponsors step up to fund her cars at the same level GoDaddy did - There would no reason for Danica to lose her seat. So far this year, the sponsors are coming from a bakery company and dentistry company.
I've read that in 2017, Stewart-Haas will switch to Ford as its auto manufacturer. Remember when Tony Stewart said the reason for leaving Joe Gibbs Racing to start his own company was Gibbs was switching to Toyotas and that he only drives Chevrolets.
