In 2005, 21-year-old Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur burst into the Majors with a .436 batting average in his first 23 games. But Francoeur never developed any plate discipline and never matched the success he enjoyed in his first season. Now 29, Francoeur was cut by the Royals on Saturday after hitting .228 with a puny .642 OPS dating back to the beginning of 2012.
