Who does Franklin/Mauk have to throw to? DGB, Lucas, and Washington. Every one of them is an NFL talent, and DGB might be a top five pick. Jimmy Hunt and Bud Sasser are better receivers than Wes Kemp or Jerrell Jackson. They also have Josey to lean on in the backfield, who is the best back the school has produced in ages.
Who did Daniel have to throw to? Coffman, Rucker, Maclin, Danario, and Will Franklin. All of them spent time in the league. Tommy Saunders had the best hands of maybe any Mizzou WR ever. Tony Temple was no slouch either.
Who did Gabbert have? Michael Egnew, who went from 90 catches to 30 the year after he left. TJ Moe, who did the same. His junior year he had Danario and leaned on him heavily, to the tune of the best season by any WR in school history. Gabbert's junior year he had jack shit on offense and the team still won ten games.
If you put Blaine Gabbert on this team it's undefeated.
