Ugly_Duck,
The idea is that for anyone even to give a thought to bashing on gay people, they must have some kind of fear of their own sexuality. For example, I don't like bologna. But, I'm not worried about bologna. I don't think about bologna constantly. I don't survey the problems facing our country and conclude that bologna must be stopped and that it should be removed from the Boy Scouts. I'm not afraid that my body will betray me and make me go out and get drunk and then go have a big fat bologna sandwich.
If I were, then maybe I'd go around bashing bologna and the culture surrounding it.
Now, Taco Bell...That's a whole other story.
