I know U of Iowa is here and the city isn't that big. I'm guessing most everything centers around the University. I know the weather sucked here today so that's no different than KC. Are the winters even more awful? I'm presuming they are. That's about all I got right now.

I know a lot about Iowa City. I live an hour South of IC. My brother lives there. I've partied countless times in Iowa City. I'm there all the time. I was just there yesterday.
First off, Falbos Pizza. I have gone to Chicago for a 4 day trip the past 6 years in a row. I make it a point to eat pizza every day I am there in an attempt to find something that tastes better than Falbos. I have tried 18-20 places in the Chi (and researched the pizza hot spots prior to going) and I've NEVER found anything better than Falbos pizza. It is fan....freaking...tastic.
With your apparent music interests, you would really enjoy hanging out/partying at a place on the outskirts of the ped mall called The Moose Lodge. It's not to crammed and it's never dead and they are notorious for having up and coming and/or local bands playing there every night. I think you'd like that place.
The ped mall is unbelievably packed on weekends. You being a football, you'd probably enjoy The Sports Column and/or The Fieldhouse. I'd stay away from the Summit. I've always referred to is as "The Scummit." A lot of rich pricks. A lot of cocaine. A lot of whores. You are engaged, you seem cool enough....I'd avoid that place.
Coralville, which is like a suburb/connected to Iowa City has a bunch of nice restaurants and a nice mall.
The winters are freaking horrendous. Not gonna sugar-coat it.
Don't know if you are a wrestling fan, but there is a lot of the best wrestling that you will ever witness (at all levels; youth, high school, college) in Iowa City.
The house-parties are generally funner than hell in Iowa City...it's noise complaint galore if you are partying south of Hwy 2 though.
Moose Lodge though...I think that's right up your alley (from what I've gathered).
