I worked on the trading floor at the KC Board of Trade for 14 years or so. Worked for the exchange itself most of that time, tried a little floor trading as well (where you 'day trade' on the spot and 'provide liquidity'). It's an interesting gig, but it'll age a guy before his time if he's not careful. My favorite parable is this: If you want to make a small fortune trading stocks or commodities...start with a large fortune.
