Not to mention that it's an all or nothing deal when it comes to enough routes and timeliness. Having lived in Europe where it's a way of life, you can get anywhere, pretty quickly, very cost effectively. When I just entertained the idea here in KC, I found the assholes running the place wouldn't even bother to help me figure out the best way from Lee's Summit and back each day. Fail! Then, when I figured it out myself, I'd have to have a clock-punching 9-5 job for it to be effective. Well, no!
So, they need to quit looking at public transportation as a charity ride for certain cross-sections of KC, and just get it in everywhere. Slow growth just won't work.
And last, having little from the airport to the market/downtown/Crown/Plaza are killing the area for many conferences. Try those on for size first, and not buses.....real light-rail cars like DC has.
Short of that, **** them, I'll drive and have my corporate conferences elsewhere.
