The number of times he shot her has ZERO relevance unless he stopped for a few seconds then went in for a kill shot or had to reload or whatever. I certainly don;t know since I wasn't there and no facts are available. Kinda my point.
To be clear I am not making excuses, Hell it could be far WORSE than what many are assuming. I am just admitting that I have no clue and not enough facts to make any kind of reasonable guess as to the circumstances.

You and Dave are both right. You are correct in that we don't have all the facts and we can only speculate and Dave is correct in that because Belcher emptied his clip into his GF in front of his mother no less, tells you Belcher had severe passionate pent up animosity that was impulsively released on his GF.
Forensic Psychologists will tell you when someone is shot or stabbed many many times over beyond what is needed to kill (a la overkill) this is a HUGE CLUE into the mind and heart of the killer and that this is PERSONAL. And emptying a clip into your GF in front of your mother is some serious personal animosity that goes waaaaay beyond "just coming home late" BUT can be the little fire to light the fuse however.
