Mike wanted Saul to do it. Saul is a coward (or just really ****ing smart). Jesse offered. I buy that Mike didn't want Jesse to do it to the extent that he didn't want Jesse to get caught. I like Mike's consistent fatherly protection of Jesse.
The only other option was Walt.
But, it did feel strained and for plot's sake more than I would have liked. But the logic holds up, I think.

There's no real reason Saul couldn't have done it himself. Saul could have sent Bill Burr's character, even. If Jessie and Walt hadn't been in Saul's office at that exact time then Saul would have taken care of it. So, yeah. Strained.
