they (det media) have tried to stir up that dorsey was a poor fit for the 34 and was available for less than a 1st rder. That was early in the offseason, before FA and the draft. Also DJ being avail before this year's trade deadline and early in the season.
Goonther's problem of flapping his gums and trying to take credit or more credit than others is catching up with him. With his personality and lack of doing just his own job and trying to be to involved, was a disaster for a team like DET with a rookie HC and GM. The idea on paper looks good. Former HC that has experience with current HC. But the guy is an extreme ego maniac.
There was a lot of rumors about DET wanting Page as well. I imagine with Page's desperation and the dumb choice of having his brother as his agent that they could have between the two of them (gunther and someone in Page's camp or he himself) done something they shouldn't have. Just a guess though.
