I still really like the Andy Reid and John Dorsey hires. I just don't agree with the way they started out here and it's totally possible the moves they are making are the best ones for the team...it just sucks that it seems like this is nothing more than us watching the same shitty movie again because of the teams history.
I hope it all works out because it's been a few years since Chiefs football was fun to watch and I'd like to enjoy the games again.
My hope is that Alex Smith shows that he can handle throwing the ball a lot more and that he will be able to maintain his ability to protect the ball and field position while taking advantage of the weapons he will have at his disposal.
I'd love to be wrong about these moves...if I/we are wrong about these things, we have a good chance to be the next 49ers type turnaround team.
Should be interesting to see how Alex Smith handles throwing the ball 600 times (Foles and Vick combined for 616 pass attempts) when he hasn't ever thrown more than 445 times in his career.
Can he keep his interceptions low while throwing so much more?
Will he be able to get the ball out faster to avoid sacks?
Will he be able to stay healthy?
These are the questions that could swing this trade drastically in either direction.
If he is able to do well in those things, the trade could end up being a steal and the guy can win us some really big games...if he isn't, we will all know what Cbase Daniels does with his chance.
