I think his reaction to the death of Fields and Matheis did a lot for me. I also think him helping the girl with the general was pretty telling for his character. Especially important was at the end he let go of his vengance for the greater good. Add in the fact that he is supposedly officially over Vespa, I think it was sufficient.

I'd be interested to know what aspects of his character you thought they should have developed.
