Your neighbors are real people who can be victimized by your behavior. If you use your neighbor's wifi connection to download copyrighted material, your neighbor will be the one who gets the letters from his ISP threatening to throttle back his connection speeds or cancel his Internet service.
If I download copyrighted material using my own Internet connection, at least I'm man enough to face the consequences for my own actions. I don't hide behind my neighbors and cause them to take the blame for what I do.
