U.S. oil demand fell nearly 5 percent in January: EIA

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. oil demand in January was 169,000 barrels per day more than previously estimated, but down 853,000 bpd from a year earlier, the Energy Information Administration said on Monday. U.S. oil demand in January was revised up by 0.93 percent to 18.268 million bpd from the EIA's earlier estimate of 18.099 million bpd. Demand fell 4.46 percent from the 19.121 million bpd posted for the same month last year.
