I think House Democrats need to get into the real world and realize that the guard and reserve are monitored as closely or possibly even more closely than the active side. Twenty years ago it was common place for people in general to imbibe as recreation. I'm sure it still goes on today, but the old military sponsored binges and the civilian company sponsored binges have been trimmed way down due to liability issues.

For many years alcohol was a mainstay of military life. That is not necessarily true today. Any of you that have served in the past 10-15 years will be able to attest to the fact that alcohol has been an issue with all branches of the military and has been addressed aggressively by each branch.

Don't think I'm saying there aren't problems with some of the guard and reserves, it impacts all people regardless of their profession or their part time jobs.

The divorce issue is not new with the military. It will be something that everyone will deal with military or civilian.
