23:36 ET: The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas City Chiefs have canceled their plans to interview XFL QB Tommy Maddox. They are also close to signing an undrafted free agent QB Ryan Helming of Northern Iowa. He threw 77 touchdown passes and 29 interceptions in three seasons as a starter at Division I-AA Northern Iowa.
