He was good in yr 2, and he even had (though not pretty) a 2-1 record in his 3rd year (loss @ SB Steelers) prior to going against Seattle and separating the shoulder. Many people were beginning to see him turn a corner.

Exceptional is too strong at this point.. but Gore is still good enough. He doesn't always get out quickly enough as a relief valve the hands are not what they were a few years ago. Then again, Charles seems to be having trouble catching too.. he's tied for 2nd in NFL drops so far.
