Whitlock helped, no question, Mr. J Diddy.
However, Chiefs fans flying banners over the stadium calling for the ouster of the GM and starting quarterback is no small thing and certainly a newsworthy event.
We'll never be able to prove it either way, but I have a strong sense that Whitlock can smell a good story a mile away and part of the reason he got involved was to piggy-back on the SOC movement. Was that worth $600 to him? Of course, it was. So, who helped who?
More importantly, does it even matter? I, for one, am grateful to Whittles for stepping up and playing a role. However, I'm not so naive as to believe that it would have happened if SOC's agenda had been inconsistent with his own.
