Oh sure. I wouldn't blame Santana in the least either. He's 31. This is his chance to get paid.
Clearing out those three contracts would make signing him doable not just for this season but say for a 4/60 deal.
Not what he wants, but I'm just talking if his market collapses like it did for Lohse. Dealing off those 3 would clear payroll. If he succeeds this season, he could then be traded if the money is a problem.
