Great pitching and average hitting usually wins you more games than average pitching and great hitting. Just look at how all those Dye/Damon/Sweeney/Beltran teams never won anything, but the Royals best performances came with Cone/Appier/Gordon and Shields/Santana/Guthrie.

I don't disagree necessarily, but we have an AMAZING bullpen. Our starters are good enough to hand the ball game to the pen in winnable shape just about every night.
