And yet, taking your team all the way down the field, not once but twice, late in the game, making the plays to win the game, is a tremendous accomplishment in the NFL. The Saints defense didn't get this "horrible" reputation until they got torched by Alex Smith. Before then they were considered to be a decent, middle of the road defense.
