Andy Reid thinks Alex Smith will be better than all these QBs in the draft. It has nothing to do with anything the Chiefs have done in the past. Pretty sure for Andy Reid personally trading for Smith was the RISKIER move. Now, pressure is on him to win immediately whereas had he gone with a 1st round QB as his starter, he'd be given a few years grace period.
Andy Reid will either be right or wrong about Alex Smith becoming a franchise QB for us. I'm somewhat skeptical, but don't think it's out of the question.
Andy Reid's decisions suggest nothing more than he thinks Alex Smith will be a better QB for us than Geno Smith, Matt Barkley, etc.
