The 'lack of content' thing still blows my mind. No launch MMO that I've played to date has had anything close to the amount of content that TOR does. I guess for me the difference is that the game from 0-50 is content every bit as much as the endgame stuff is. And it's apparently impossible to deprogram the mainstream MMO audience into thinking that way. Everything is about burning to 50 and then grinding until your eyes bleed. Nobody seems to take the time to enjoy the journey.

Hopefully it won't go like basically any MMO launch since about three years after WoW launched, and instant gratification doesn't kill the game before it's had a real chance to grow. In some ways it surprises me that WoW managed to survive. I'm not sure it would now, if it was a new game launching in today's MMO environment (although that's a mind-bending question, because today's MMO environment is largely due to WoW, so without it, maybe it would survive).
While I definitely understand what you're saying, I have never really been an alt kind of guy. And to be honest there isn't all this awesome content in 1-50, well, repeatable awesome content in 1-50. The class stories sure, that is hands down amazing. But the planets themselves, no thanks. The people that designed Balmorra, Tattoine and Hoth should be taken out deep sea fishing rubbed down with raw meat and used as shark bait. All that being said, I have a 50 inquis, a 50 warrior, and I will more than likely be rolling an agent in the next few weeks. Only cause there is nothing else to do.

Post max level content is what matters to a lot of players, not all, but a lot. For these players, the game doesn't even start till max level. Your spec, rotations, and stat builds don't really start to take form until then. Some enjoy the whole rat race of gearing, and progression raiding, others like dungeon crawling. I like all of that, but I’m so sick of the ops and the flashpoints that doing the quest to get the Achievement Ice mount which is to do all of the HM flashpoints is something I can't even be bothered with right now, mainly cause if I have to set foot in Black Talon one more time, I might dry heave all over my keyboard.

TBH, I have played many MMO’s, and I have never seen a game open up with so little to do at 50. I think the main reason is, they made it so that anyone can get anything really, really, really, easily. For all intents and purposes, Columi is pretty much the best gear in the game up until 1.2. Some would argue Rakata, but the fact that if you just straight swap Rakata for Columi you gain a ridiculous amount of accuracy at the expense of other stats that are much more important to you class. And to top it off, Accuracy is a waste of a stat, you don’t need anything more than 98% to hit anything in the game. And, Columi can be gotten by doing HM dungeons, 1 drop per flashpoint, or saving Columi tokens, which can be used to purchase Columi gear, or Story Mode Ops. Since it is so easy to get this gear, and once you have Columi, trust me, Rakata is not that far away, the game is over, there is nothing else to do. Raids don’t drop unique gear that keeps people going back, they just offer the same gear you can get in flashpoints. This is what has the end gamers so upset, there is no rat race essentialy, or rather, instead of the Indy 500, it’s more like a 40 yard dash to the finish line.
