I think it's BS to call them garbage yards. It's not like he was getting all of his yards in the 4th quarter of blowout games. He was relatively effective as a RB. Not great, not bad.

But toward the end of the year, you really saw his breakout potential. A QB that can go vertical can open up the underneath stuff where McCluster will become downright deadly. The problem right now isn't that McCluster isn't very good, it's that the Chiefs are 3-WRs deep and they have a RB who MUST be complemented with a thumper back (if McCluster was a #2 RB behind, say, Adrian Peterson.... then yes, he would get a very good share of carries). So even in standard sets, it's hard to imagine where he fits. In non-standard sets where you want to throw an extra tight end or fullback, same deal.
