Alex Smith is a average/to above average NFL QB. He's exactly what you said. An efficient game manager.

Which is 'meh.' I liked Green a lot. One of my favorite Chiefs...
but we've been down that road. Time to take a franchise QB at #1 and see what happens. If they want to give the 49ers a 4th for Alex Smith and take Geno at 1.1 then I'm more than ok with that.
But Smith and Joeckel? We better go 12-4, win at least 1 playoff game, and see Alex Smith have a career year and not just a stat wise career year.

I'll bet if I dug hard enough I could find a post from you saying Matt Cassel's ceiling was Trent Green back in 2009. They're the same dude. One had much better coaching, and much better talent surrounding him the last couple of years.
