Well the first pick in the 2nd round was way too high. That was terrible. But I would've considered a 3rd or 4th. That's still probably too high, but everyone talks about how important the position is and how this team should be more aggressive in acquiring one... that's what they think they were doing. I guess.
Smith is a #1 overall pick. He has talent. And we have a coach with a solid history of getting the most out of his talent at QB.
But at this point screw all these rules. We don't have to be tied to Smith for years on end, at least until we give him a stupid contract. But I like the idea of throwing as much as we can at the position. If you find the right guy it won't be a problem. No one's laughing at Shanahan for drafting 2 QBs last year.
