This isn't some random backup, like Cassel was. Smith deserves to be a starting QB in the NFL.
Do you think he's a "franchise" QB, do you think he's good enough to win a Super Bowl, we can argue about that. He was 3 points away from getting there last year.
But to say he is only a backup and isn't a starting QB in the NFL when he was rated 90+ last year and 100+ this year, when he lost his job due to injury, just makes no sense.
