Concerns regarding Pennington's surgically repaired
labia are valid --- however, 5 weeks is a good period of time, and reports out of camp (as well as the Inside Training Camp from NFL Channel) have been promising.
Also, our offense is not going to be all that different from last season --- we're most definitely a running team, that won't change with Heimerdinder on board. What will change is that we'll go for the jugular when the opportunities are there. That basically means that if a running play were to be called, and Coles is in single-coverage, Pennington has the option to audible and go for a fade pattern or deep, depending on what part of the field we're on. We'll also be utitlizing the TE more as a passing threat (think Frank Wychek), with the addition of Doug Jolley (stone-hands Becht in now in Tampa Bay
).
As far as predictions for week 1, is still too early for that IMO. But I'll be back with one in the next few weeks.
