I want to believe. Quinn led a team at the college level. He was successful there and was a first round QB. Cassel on the other hand was not a prospect and only ever should have been asked to be a decent NFL backup.
Question:
If Quinn had been the backup when Brady went down, would he have done as well as Cassel did that year? I think he definitely could have or would have. I don't think there is any warrant to say Cassel is definitely better than Quinn. One got a shot in a favorable situation. The other never did.
I don't expect either to be QB in the NFL much longer, but for what it's worth, i think it really should be an open competition. Quinn is probably just as good as Cassel.

I know everybody hates Cassel... but give me a ****ing break. Cassel, no matter what you think about him as a QB, has had some success in the NFL... Quinn has done nothing.... couldn't beat out Derek Anderson or Orton. I love a good story as much as anybody else, but hoping that Brady Quinn will deliver us is just wishful thinking.
