A poem for the Blackout:

I see some red seats and I want them painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the fans walk by dressed in their Sunday clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With Romeo and Scott, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a one and seven start, it happens ev'ryday

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red Chiefs jersey, it's been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

No more will my green play field turn a deeper blue
I could not forsee this thing happening to you
If we suck hard enough before the season's done
The NFL will laugh at us before the morning comes
