Unfortunately a prospect with ace upside is a long way from being an ace. That being said I would have no problem keeping odorizzi out of a deal if possible.
A lot of this hypothetical thinking also depends on what the royals do in free agency and how the pitchers in the system progress this year. If you go out and sign 2 guys (lets say anibal sanchez and shawn marcum) then maybe it is worth going after that true ace.
