This is something that has always pissed me off. It ends up relating to war talk and tragedy talk as well.
Why is it that when somebody wins god gets all the credit, almost every time.... "I'd like to thank God, and also those who supported me in reaching my goals". Said every winning athlete ever.
"I can't believe we lost, it must be Gods fault", Said NO ONE ever. There's always this acknowledgment that god must be right, and this just must be part of "his plan", as if there is some hidden kernel of soul gratifying enjoyment that is right in front of you, and you just don't understand it yet. It can't possibly be that you just got the shit end of the stick and lost, and god doesn't care.
He gets a pass every time shit goes wrong, but when shit goes right, he is the first person to get the credit. I wish I had a job like that.
