They (Big Ten) didn't offer to add them "at that time" b/c they thought they could add them later no problem.
He isn't the first person to have said that. MU heading south and east surprised a lot of people to the north.
Saying MU wasn't desired by the Big Ten b/c they didn't offer to add them at that time is no more correct than saying no one wants KU until you add appropriate context. You really only have the answer to that question in an absolute sense once all hell breaks lose and they are all free agents. For example, if the Big XII dissolved tomorrow I have little doubt KU would be fine and find a landing spot with a major league b/c of what they have to offer. That view isn't diminished by the fact that the Big Ten/SEC/PAC 12 hasn't offered them as of yet.
I don't think either school has so much going for it that they could dictate where they land and when much the way Notre Dame or Texas could.
