They're getting traction because the kid wants them to.
Whether that's because the kid really wants to go to kansas or because the kid wants the optics to be better (committing immediately to Mizzou could raise eyebrows more and draw more attention to Mizzou's behavior during his request for release, I suppose), I don't know.
I think it's the latter.
Former doesn't make a ton of sense. Kansas has one spot open and seems to be chasing different positions (SG/PG).
