It's always 2 years over the horizon.
That apparently confirms my biggest fear -- that DM won't add any significant pitching in 2013 because he wants to see what Paulino and Duffy look like after rehab, and maybe give some looks to Lamb and Monty, and play out Chen's contract. So he doesn't want to sign/trade for anyone who might "block" these guys.
So once all that shakes out, then in the 2013 off-season he's gonna go full guns assembling a team to compete in 2014. Promise. Pinky swear.
Until the next round of excuses come out and it will be 2016.
