I've never stated once that a game could not be postponed. I've stated that under the latest ESPN agreement, games will not be postponed to Monday Night.

Nobody has ever argued that it had to be postponed to Monday night. People said postponed, and you basically called them morons for it.
As far as the contract goes, it most likely doesn't say anything about having games on Mondays -- instead, it would probably deal with exclusive rights to
nationally televised games on Monday night.
Anyway, the players had a say in this. This was an unforeseeable circumstance that can allows for significant affects on contractual obligations, similar to Acts of God.
