Feature character was Locke.
Backstory: Locke was put up for adoption and raised in foster homes. He is approached by his birthmother. He then hires an investigator to verify her claim and finds out who his father is - a very wealthy man. Eventually Locke learns that his father is on dialysis and needs a kidney to survive. Locke donates his kidney. After the operation, he wakes up alone in the hospital, to find that the father had left. The father sent the mother to track Locke down, then conned him into a relationship only to get the organ. After that, the prick father won't see him. Very brutal.
Story: Locke and Boone try to get through the hatch. A contraption they build to smash it fails, and Locke gets a piece of wood through the leg, which doesn't cause him pain. He realizes that he is losing sensation in his legs, and slowly begins to lose the use of them. He has a dream about a yellow plane crashing into the jungle, and believes there is something in the plane that he can use to open the hatch. He and Boone find the plane, crashed in a tree. By this point, Locke can't walk anymore. Boone climbs into the plane, only to discover that plane's dead occupants were drug runners, and the only thing in the plane is heroin (no, Charlie doesn't know yet). Boone's moving around in the plane causes it to shift and fall out of the tree and crash about 30 feet to the ground with Boone inside. Boone gets MAJORLY fucked up. Locke regains the use of his legs and hauls Boone back to Jack. Boone appears to have a sucking chest wound and a grim prognosis for survival. Locke returns to the hatch, starts beating on it, and then a light comes on from beneath the glass. Episode ends.
And Sawyer is farsighted. Sayeed makes him some glasses.
