Monday morning Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star wrote that it appeared that the Chiefs had a fourth quarterback on the roster.The players didn't practice -- they went to a movie instead -- but they did walk out onto the field in their practice gear. Along with all the players, Teicher wrote, was a new quarterback (#9, Matt Gutierrez's old number).

That someone, according to Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star, was an assistant coach.

"So the Chiefs appear to be loosey goosey today. Apparently they dressed Nick Sirianni, a quality control coach, as the 3rd QB this morning."

Even with the joke/misunderstanding, the "newsy" item of the day is that Brodie Croyle wasn't dressed out for the morning practice and had a brace on his arm. The Chiefs will likely need a third quarterback to get through camp.Maybe it's joke day around the NFL. Vince Wilfork lined up at quarterback at the New England Patriotstraining camp practice this morning.

The "Fourth QB" was quality control coach Nick Sirriani. The Chiefs haven't signed anyone as of this morning and there have been no press releases regarding Croyle's injury.

I'm sure we'll know more this afternoon.
