IMO the tourney is no crapshoot. KU has had many blunders in the tourney and it's not a good thing for the school.

However when you simply are there every single season in such a high ranking it's very difficult to no come up short from time to time.
One could argue that during Self's tenure that KU has come up short more than just "time to time."

I only mentioned it because KU fans seem to use both arguments whenever it suits them, and I find that humorous.
