That's why the Royals might be able to nab him. There's some risk associated, but if they feel his velo loss is due to his back issues (which would make sense, honestly), it's not a big deal.
He's also never really been a huge velocity guy, as someone mentioned.
Either way, more good pitchers on the market increases the chances the Royals bring in some real outside help. So it's a positive thing.
