3. Demaryius Thomas — Is it still too early to declare that Thomas has joined the ranks of the NFL’s elite wideouts? The big third-year receiver has caught 30 balls for 513 yards and two TDs. He’s had three 100-yard games this season and is coming off a 9-188-0 performance against the Patriots. Thomas appears to be fully in sync with his new quarterback, Peyton Manning, who’s been routinely hitting Thomas in stride on shorter routes and letting him wreak havoc after the catch. The 6-3, 229-pound Thomas might be the hardest receiver to tackle since Sterling Sharpe, and Thomas is much, much faster than Sharpe was. Thomas and the Broncos visit San Diego for a Monday-night matchup against the Chargers, who let another big receiver, the Saints’ Marques Colston, rack up 9-131-3 against them last week.
