In that case, I'd definitely roll the dice on one of the QBs coming out.
Alex has a 2 year contract. Hypothetically, KC doesn't give him a new contract. If he doesn't play well or even regresses, KC either turns to Chase Daniel or Stanzi or has to in all likelihood trade up for a QB.
It is better to use 1.1 on a QB that even if he doesn't play immediately, might secure long term stability rather than trying to trade up for a QB in the future.
