A mishmash of what's been discussed in this thread (Joseph Gordon-Levitt has ascended to the new Batman) and much of the animated movie "Dark Knight Returns," only with a young, ascendant Batman with Bruce Wayne's inherited resources (Morgan Freeman acting as his new Alfred, essentially) instead of the older 55-year old.

He begins spinning out of control, getting a bit drunk on Batman power, doing a ton to secure the city but basically usurping Gotham's police force and democracy in general in the process (people forget how much fury was stirring inside JGL's character in TDKR).

Superman comes in to restore some sense of control to Batman's character.

It certainly does beg the question of where, exactly, Lex Luthor comes in.
