They could really use stuff like this to boost him into mega-babyface level when he's back. Whether they do that or not, I don't know. I still think in Vince's mind, Punk has to be the heel in all this. |
I'm really enjoying all these random things he's been doing since he won the belt, and I hope they find a way to get the "average" WWE fan to see stuff like this, but I'm not holding my breath.
That said, they need to just make him the anti-hero that he's been the past few weeks. Challenge authority, keep using the "pipe bomb" (mic) to cut people down and let the crowd react how they may depending on the circumstances. Basically, let him keep being CM Punk. The crowd will probably keep cheering him (at least for now), but hopefully WWE doesn't
try to make the crowd cheer him.
